NRL Match Preview: Rabbitohs vs Broncos RD10, 2025

The South Sydney Rabbitohs will be back home at Accor Stadium this week for Women in League Round as they take on the Brisbane Broncos in a Friday night blockbuster at 8pm AEST.

It has been a tough few weeks for the Rabbitohs, who have had more than their fair share of injuries and suspensions as they suffered their fourth straight defeat at the hands of the Knights at Magic Round last week.

However, a couple of key ins and a reshuffle in the forward pack from Coach Wayne Bennett will give the Red and Green faithful plenty of confidence that they can turn their form around and get back to their winning ways against the Broncos on Friday night.

Keaon Koloamatangi: “He’s aggressive and that’s what we love him for, and we don’t want him to stop that.”

Keaon Koloamatangi is buoyed by the return of fullback Latrell Mitchell from suspension, and cannot wait to run out onto Accor Stadium alongside him this Friday. One of many attributes Mitchell brings to the table is aggression, and while he may tread a fine line at times, the last thing Koloamatangi and his teammates want him to do is curb that aggression.

“Obviously we know that Latrell’s one of the best players in the comp. He’s aggressive and that’s what we love him for, and we don’t want him to stop that. Every time he’s not on the field it’s a big loss for us… He’s fit and firing and ready to go for us this week.”

Campbell Graham: “We know that amongst ourselves we need more consistency in our performances.”

Campbell Graham offered some honest assessments of where the side is at presently, but also cause to be hopeful that the group can turn it around and get their season back on track this week against the Broncos. Despite the disappointing score line against the Knights last weekend, Graham can feel that the team is not far off from performing how they need to if they are to pick up more victories in the coming weeks.

“Way better than we were on the weekend. I think we’ve kind of been a bit hot and cold. We’re obviously on a losing streak at the minute. I thought our performance against the Storm was much better than what we produced in Magic Round. We know that amongst ourselves we need more consistency in our performances, but we know that it’s there, it’s not too far off and we’re capable of performing.”

Team Changes

The Rabbitohs have received a massive boost, with Latrell Mitchell returning from a one-game suspension to play fullback and captain the side. This will see livewire Jye Gray return to the bench, where he will look to make an impact in the later stages of the match.

Jamie Humphreys will also make his return to the side at halfback, after sustaining a hamstring injury in round five against the Roosters. His long kicking game will make him a handy addition to the Cardinal and Myrtle in this clash.

Coach Wayne Bennett has decided to go with a new look front row pairing for this one. Jai Arrow and Keaon Koloamatangi will be packing down together up front to start the game after playing at lock and in the second row respectively last week.

Lachlan Hubner has been elevated to the starting side to cover Arrow at lock, while Euan Aitken will move from centre to second row in place of Koloamatangi. Meanwhile, Isaiah Tass moves into the centres, and Fletcher Myers off the bench and onto the wing to round out the backline.

Finally, Siliva Havili will start at Hooker, replacing Peter Mamouzelos who suffered an elbow injury in last week’s loss to Newcastle. As reported in the latest Rehab Report, Mamouzelos dislocated his right elbow in the final minutes of the Magic Round game against the Knights. The elbow was put back in place following the game and his arm was placed in a cast. The cast has now been removed and Peter will have an MRI scan later this week to determine the extent of the damage to his elbow and a potential return date.
