Souths Cares Central Coast Regional Tour Engages Over 3,500 Students

The Rabbitohs Wellbeing team hit the road last week, delivering a highly impactful tour of the NSW Central Coast, engaging over 3,500 students through a series of wellbeing and mental fitness workshops as well as physical activity.

The Rabbitohs Wellbeing team was joined by Gotcha4Life , who delivered their Mental Fitness Kickstarter program - providing practical strategies to build mental fitness, helping students navigate life’s challenges with confidence and resilience.

Our Rabbitohs Wellbeing team delivered our Your Health: OWN IT! Program. This interactive workshop focuses on three key pillars of health - nutrition, movement, and sleep - empowering students with the knowledge and tools to take ownership of their wellbeing. The sessions helped students understand how daily habits impact both their physical and mental health, promoting a proactive approach to self-care.

South Sydney Rabbitohs NRL players Davy Moale and Ben Lovett joined the tour, adding authenticity and inspiration by sharing their personal experiences around wellbeing, overcoming challenges, and the demands of professional sport. Their open and relatable stories deeply resonated with students, reinforcing the importance of looking after both body and mind.

Importantly, taking initiatives like this into regional communities addresses a critical gap. Young people in regional areas often face barriers such as limited access to health education and support services. By bringing wellbeing programs directly into schools, Souths Cares ensures these students are not left behind.

Luke Barry-Donnellan, Director of Wellbeing MacKillop Catholic College.

“The opportunity for our students to engage with the South Sydney brand while using rugby league as a vehicle to promote wellbeing was outstanding. From our school perspective, we saw an impressive 92% attendance rate across K - 11. This is a pleasing result and shows the value of your presence in our community.”

Through its partnership with Gotcha4Life and the delivery of evidence-based programs like Your Health: OWN IT!, Souths Cares continues to create lasting impact building stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities across regional NSW.
